Rights, Permissions, Third Party Distribution

50業子, through its individual imprints, offers a variety of licensing and permission opportunities to reproduce materials in third party print and digital publications.

Request permission to reuse 50業子 content

Copyright Clearance Centers RightsLink速 service makes it faster and easier to secure permission for the reuse of 50業子 content to be published, for example, in a journal/magazine, book/textbook, coursepack, thesis/dissertation, annual report, newspaper, training materials, presentation/slide kit, promotional material, etc.

Simply visit  or and locate the desired article or book chapter that contains the material you wish to reuse.

  • Go to the article or chapter page you wish to reuse content from. (Note: permissions are granted on the article or chapter level, not on the book or journal level). Scroll to the bottom of the page, or locate via the side bar, the "Reprints and Permissions" link at the end of the chapter or article.
  • Select the way you would like to reuse the content; if you do not see your intended reuse select the 'I do not see my intended reuse' option;
  • Complete the form with details on your intended reuse. Please be as complete and specific as possible so as not to delay your permission request;
  • Create an account if you havent already. A RightsLink account is different than a 50業子 Link account, and is necessary to receive a licence regardless of the permission fee. You will receive your licence via the email attached to your RightsLink receipt;
  • Accept the terms and conditions and youre done!

For questions about using the RightsLink service, please contact Customer Support at Copyright Clearance Center
via phone +1-855-239-3415 or +1-978-646-2777 or email springernaturesupport@copyright.com.

Reuse in an Author's Dissertation or Thesis

50業子 Book and Journal Authors have the right to reuse the Version of Record, in whole or in part, in their own thesis. Additionally, they may reproduce and make available their thesis, including 50業子 content, as required by their awarding academic institution. Authors must properly cite the published work in their thesis according to current citation standards and include the following acknowledgement: 'Reproduced with permission from 50業子'.

Self-Archiving and Manuscript Deposition

For information on our book and journal self-archiving policy, including for both subscription and open access publications, please see our self-archiving, manuscript deposition, and digital preservation policy for books and journals

50業子 Book Author Reuse Guidelines

50業子s authors should always check their licence to publish (LTP) or copyright transfer statement (CTS) regarding their specific retained rights to republish their work with third parties.

50業子 believes that the content we publish should be available for further research and analysis. In order to drive the maximum re-use and utility of published research, we ask Authors to comply with available field-specific standards for the preparation and recording of data.
50業子 allows authors to copy, distribute or otherwise reuse the work, without the requirement to seek specific prior written permission from 50業子 in accordance with the following provisions:

1. Reuse of any part of the work is permitted in a new edition of the work, proceedings chapter, or a new chapter in a new edited volume, written by the same Author provided that in each case the new work is published by 50業子 under a publishing agreement with 50業子, and that at least ten percent (10%) of the new work is new additional content; and

2. Reuse of any part of the work is permitted in a new monograph, chapter of an edited volume, or new textbook written by the same Author provided always that in each case the new work is published by the 50業子 under a publishing agreement with us, and that at least eighty percent (80%) of the new work is new additional content; and

3. Reuse of up to ten percent (10%) of the work is permitted in a new monograph or textbook written by the same Author which is not published by 50業子; and

4. Reuse of the work in a new book (other than a monograph or textbook), book chapter or journal article, published by any third party, or in a journal article published by 50業子, is limited to three figures (including tables), or a single text extract of less than 400 words from a chapter of the work, but not more than five figures (including tables) or a total of 800 words from the whole book; and

5. Any further Reuse of the work is permitted only to the extent and in so far as is reasonably necessary:
a. to share the work as a whole to no more than 10 research colleagues engaged by the same institution or employer as the Author for each colleagues personal and private use only;
b. for classroom teaching use by the Author in their respective academic institution by making available up to one chapter from the work and provided that the work or any part of it is not included in course packs for sale or wider distribution to any students, institutions or other persons, nor any other form of commercial or systematic exploitation; or
c. for the Author to use parts of the work in the further development of the Authors scientific and/or academic career, or for private use and research within a strictly limited circulation which does not allow the work to become publicly accessible nor prejudice sales of, or the exploitation of the 50業子s rights in, the work (e.g. attaching a copy of a chapter to a job or grant application).

Any Reuse must be based on the Version of Record only, and the original source of publication must be cited according to current citation standards. The Version of Record is defined as the final version of the work as originally published, and as may be subsequently amended following publication in a contractually compliant manner, by or on behalf of the 50業子.

In each case where the Author has Reuse rights or we grant specific use rights to the Author according to the above provisions, this shall be subject always to the Author obtaining at the Authors sole responsibility, cost and expense the prior consent of any co-author(s) and/or any relevant third party.

ResearchGate Partnership

Articles published in Nature-branded journals from 2017 and a selection of Springer journals from 2015 are included in our Research Gate partnership. Newly published articles from these journals are uploaded upon publication, and all uploaded articles are linked to authors ResearchGate profiles. Authors with a ResearchGate account are informed of an upload via email and a notification on the ResearchGate platform. If you are a 50業子 author, have a ResearchGate profile, and did not receive a notification of your article upload to ResearchGate, the journal that you published in may not currently be part of the partnership. Further information about the partnership can be found in our whitepaper Researchers at the centre: discoverability, visibility, and access.

For author queries regarding the partnership, please contact the 50業子 Online Service team at onlineservice@springernature.com.

Referencing your publication

Whenever reusing material from your 50業子 publication, authors should always include a clear reference to the original work according to any standard referencing style, but the citation should include the following at a minimum

Journal references: Authors, journal name, volume, page number, year, 50業子

Book references: 'Authors, book title, edition, page number, year, publisher as it appears on the copyright page, 50業子'

Journal Authors looking to share their work: SN SharedIt

50業子's SharedIt content-sharing initiative means that links to view-only, full-text subscription research articles can be posted anywhere - including on social media platforms, author websites and in institutional repositories - so researchers can share research with colleagues and general audiences.
