SDG8: Sustainable tourism

Tourism has long been considered a driver of economic growth and opportunity, especially for developing countries, which rely on it as a vital source of foreign exchange and employment. But tourism also generates risks, such as the potential for environmental degradation and exposure to pollution and disease.

As a result, the promotion of sustainable tourism is imperative to the future of the nations that rely so heavily on this social, cultural, and economic phenomenon. In this section of the Sustainable Development Goal 8 Hub, you can find the latest research dedicated to supporting the implementation of policies to promote sustainable tourism, in the hope of, one day, making these goals a reality.
