As part of our SDGs Symposium 2023 "Cities and Nature: exploring linkages and designing solutions for sustainability", we invite individual students or student groups to submit posters. The posters must be relevant the theme of the Symposium (i.e. Cities and Nature), as outlined in the event website.

The posters can (a) present innovative research findings, and/or (b) propose solutions with transformative potential

The poster session is open to undergraduates (BSc or equivalent) and postgraduates (MSc, PhD or equivalent), from Japanese universities. 

A maximum of 20 posters will be selected based on:

  • Relevance to the topic of 2023 SDG Symposium
  • Innovativeness
  • Academic excellence (for research-based posters) or transformative potential (for solutions-oriented posters)
  • Overall presentation quality 

Important dates are:

  1. Deadline for submission: extended until 22 February 2023 
  2. Selection of posters: 21 February 2023
  3. Communication of results: 22 February 2023
  4. Confirm participation: 24 February 2023

Instructions to submit and present posters

The venue of the poster session is Ito International Hall, at the University of Tokyo. The posters will be on display for 90 min before the start of the SDGs Symposium 2023 (i.e. from 3.00-4.30 pm). During that time, poster presenters will have the opportunity to interact with the general audience as well as speakers of the Symposium to receive feedbacks and comments. 

The language of the poster should be English, and the maximum dimensions should be: 90cm x 240cm (width x height) . 

Please note that the submitted posters will only enter the selection process if they are:

  • in English
  • in final poster form (not in the Abstract form)
  • are accompanied by the CV of the poster presenter

Electronic files with the final version of the poster and a brief CV of the poster presenter must be submitted by: 22 February 2023 (deadline extended)

Please note that all costs for the participation to the SDG Symposium such as transport or printing must be covered by the students/teams. There is no participation/registration fee.
