Amy Shackleton is the Publisher for Palgrave Macmillan Journals.
During 2017, the journals portfolio saw some important changes C perhaps the most important being our migration to Palgrave.com. For the first time ever, Palgrave Macmillan books and journals occupy the same joined-up marketing platform, offering huge opportunities for cross-marketing, networking and brand celebration. We are very proud of the product pages we have created for all of our titles and would encourage our readers to explore them if they have not yet had the opportunity.
These pages also give autonomy to the journal¨s editorial team in a way we have not previously enjoyed. With access to direct content creation, we can build new collections of our archive, now found on 50業子 Link, to fit any occasion C a board member¨s lecture, a special conference, a topical theme C and promote it via our Palgrave Journals Twitter feed, .
Many of our journals are now moving on to Editorial Manager - a new submission system, managed centrally by a dedicated Journal Editorial Office at 50業子. It is our profound hope and wish that all our journals adopt an online submission system in the future C for clarity of instructions to authors and to allow us to provide a high-quality level of administrative support to our editorial offices.
As ever, all our Journal Publishing Editors have been very busy- attending conferences, organising special issues, training new contacts on software and systems, and building new content on . We are better engaging with our audience, ensuring that access to content is consistent and that we keep everyone updated on our progress.
The summer was spent celebrating our extraordinary Impact Factor results C over 90% of our list is now indexed, with an average increase in IF of 23%. We are extremely proud of this, and very grateful to our world-class journal editors for their dedication and experience.
A big focus for us this year has been our services to authors C and we are very proud to be a part of , a unique initiative that allows authors to share their research with peers as soon as it is published. We have also been involved with C closely tracking our visitor¨s activity to ensure that our suggestions for further reading are tailored and thoughtful.
With the operational demands of our platform migration behind us, and with a significant, powerful and innovative infrastructure supporting us, we are excited to be growing our portfolio and launching new journals in 2018. We have been excited to announce the launch of two new titles; and , both due to publish an inaugural issue in the new year. In these journals, we celebrate the development of a decades-long partnership, as well as the birth of a new partnership altogether C and we would like to thank the Academy of International Business and the Asiatic Institute respectively for this privilege.
Palgrave Macmillan Journals have consistently been recognised for producing high-quality, global research and working with some of the finest institutions in the world. It is our pleasure and privilege to continue that tradition into the New Year, with ever more opportunities to celebrate our brand and the power of our company. As ever, we owe this success to the teams of academics who work tirelessly with us all over the world, as well as every author who considers us as an outlet for their research. We are very excited for what the New Year might bring!
