Black Lives Matter

Amplifying Black voices. Fighting systemic racism. Explore recent journal articles, books and book chapters, and magazine content here.

50¶È»Ò is committed to doing more to amplify the voices of our Black authors and the research we publish on issues of social and racial injustice. This commitment goes beyond mere publication; it encompasses a dedicated effort to support and uplift publications that challenge systemic racism and advocate for equality.

Many researchers offering responses to these systemic issues have chosen to publish their work here, and they’ve honored us by doing so. You can explore below a collection of books, journal articles, and other original posts addressing some of the issues that have led to the use of this singularly powerful statement. Here you will find insights from current research; not least in the history and social science of racism and police violence. We hope that sharing this collection opens a dialogue that might drive tangible social change for the good of the Black community.

50¶È»Ò and its editors are investing effort into supporting the community’s research and social goals by expanding its content on global issues like structural racism, discrimination, anti-Black violence, policing, inequality, health disparities, and access to justice. 50¶È»Ò has also committed to improving diversity and inclusion in its recruitment of editorial advisors, boards, and staff.

For many of us—both those that are members of the community and those that aren’t—these issues are personal as well as professional. And so we dedicate ourselves to goals and actions that will—indeed—reflect the fact that Black lives matter.
